2 Ways to get more Happy in your Mealtimes πŸ˜ƒ

Hello Reader!

Do you hate having to choose between what you "should" eat and you want to eat?

The donut, or the chicken breast? Hmmm, tough choice. 😬

I struggled for years to stay on a diet plan, trying diet after diet, and even needing to avoid certain foods that others enjoyed due to food sensitivities and gut health problems.

I was miserable, and, I was unsuccessful. Until I discovered the secret that I didn't really have to choose after all...

If you want to learn more about my story, please click here. But today I want to share with you how I lost 40 pounds, effortlessly maintain my weight and enjoy every meal. It's wonderful!

Two ways to put HAPPY back into healthy food choices: ⬇️

1: Find out what works for you.

Your health is a life of discovery, like so many other aspects of life. No comparing!

Other people may pressure you to eat certain things to be healthy, or follow a certain plan. But it might not be right for you.

You're not a carbon copy of someone else. If you do not find joy following a particular diet plan, just glean from it and then try something else. And if it doesn't make you feel as good as they did, don't feel bad! Again, #notacarboncopy

Tip: If you're losing weight but hate the diet plan, it's not the right plan for you. You probably will not be able to stick with it and you will stay on the yo-yo diet rollercoaster without ever mastering your food.

2: Try to eat food you enjoy at every meal

Once you know what works for you food-wise, make sure the foods you need to eat are also foods you enjoy.

Why? Because food was created to be enjoyed, and your soul will be happy and you will still get the benefits of being healthy.

You will feel satisfied when you eat your lunch instead of depressed.

You will be able to stop when you are full because you know you have another enjoyable meal to look forward to when you are hungry again.

There's lots to say about this subject but here are some quick examples to get you started:

  • Bread πŸ₯–: You are allergic to gluten but you love bread. Try and find either a store-bought or homemade version that is easy and satisfying. Be creative- some store-bought gluten free bread is not only unhealthy but gross. Think about what is satisfying about bread- it's warm, cozy, filling... it may not have to taste exactly like French Bread to give you that satisfied feeling.
My favorite Bread: Here's a link to my family's favorite bread- I make a batch every week and I am a very busy person. I have it down, it takes me 15 minutes and everyone loves it! https://lexiscleankitchen.com/the-ultimate-paleo-sandwich-rolls/
  • Casserole πŸ₯˜: When I was following a Keto diet a while ago I modified one of my Mom's famous comfort food recipes- the "Tangy Tortilla Casserole." It's not exactly like her recipe, but I guarantee you it is exactly as warm, savory and comforting as the original. In fact, some people think it is more so.

Just to recap- the key is figure out what you like about foods you "can't" have, and figure out how to have them anyway! Have fun πŸ€— and I'm here to help you every step of the way.

Finally, don't forget this: You are a unique person, created for a purpose, and you are worth every second it takes to take care of you and live the amazing life you deserve. I appreciate you!
